Raining, raining raining, Same old story in Portland and everyone kept telling us that it was going to stop on the 4th of July as that’s when summer starts. We decided anyway in anticipation that we would take Alfred to Sun River for a few days as we spent some time there in 2007 when doing the Hood to Coast and it was spectacular.
Well we were not disappointed again. We took an easy drive up on Friday with the rest of the hoards departing Portland for the Independence day long weekend. Five hours later we arrived at our magnificent “Dog Friendly ” lodge deep in the Sun River village. Awesome because we took young Zak with us for the first time and it was very nice for him not having to go to the dog sitter or kennels. He definitely loves me more for it.
Anyway we immediately pumped the wheels of the bikes in the garage (part of the deal) and here are the guinea pigs test driving the modern day bikes (fixed cogs 
) doing a lap around the cul de sac with Zak in tow.
